What makes your Thai clothing authentic — not a costume?

Our pieces are designed and made in Thailand in styles that stay true to genuine Thai dress, so they look right at the events where it matters — weddings, ordinations, temple visits, festivals and family celebrations.

This is real Thai attire, not Halloween-style costume pieces or generic “Asian-inspired” imitations. It’s the difference between turning up looking the part and turning up looking like you missed the mark.

What are your garments made from?

Most of our pieces are made from premium Thai silk-blend and cotton fabrics — chosen to look beautiful, feel good to wear all day, and hold up to real use. Silk-blend gives you the sheen and drape of traditional Thai dress with more durability and easier care than pure silk.

Are items ready to ship or made-to-order?

Everything in our collection is ready to ship from Thailand — so you receive your order faster, with most orders dispatched within 1–2 business days. We don’t currently do made-to-order, though we may introduce some premium pieces in the future.

How do you check quality before shipping?

Every order is inspected before it leaves us. We check the fabric, examine the stitching and construction, make sure any embellishments are secure, and confirm the piece is in great condition. We only send out items we’d happily wear to an important occasion ourselves.

Which sizes do you offer?

We offer sizes XS to 3XL, with measurements designed to suit Western body proportions while keeping the traditional Thai silhouette. We size with our diaspora customers in mind, because Thai garments sometimes fit differently from everyday Western clothing.

Each product page includes detailed measurements and fit notes for that specific style.

How do I choose the right size?

Take your bust, waist, hip and length measurements carefully (or have someone help), then compare them to the size chart on the product page. Read the fit notes too — some styles are meant to sit fitted, while others have a relaxed, flowing drape.

Do different Thai styles fit differently?

Yes — quite noticeably. Each traditional style has its own silhouette. Fitted bodices with structured shoulders sit close to the body; modest, relaxed styles (popular for temple visits) have more room; tailored, defined-waist styles read more formal; and flowing styles are the most forgiving across body types.

How do I care for my garment?

Most of our silk-blend and cotton pieces are best treated gently, much like fine silk. The safest method is hand washing in cold water with a mild, pH-neutral detergent — no bleach. Swish gently without wringing or twisting, roll in a clean towel to remove excess water, then hang to dry away from direct sunlight.

For pieces with heavy embellishment or beading, professional dry cleaning is a safe choice — just tell your cleaner it’s a delicate fabric.

How do I place an order?

Browse the collection, choose your size from the dropdown, add to cart and check out when ready. Double-check your shipping address carefully — international corrections are hard to make once a package is on its way. You’ll get an order confirmation email straight away, and a shipping email with tracking once it’s dispatched.

What payment methods do you accept?

All major credit and debit cards (Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover), plus PayPal, Apple Pay and Google Pay. Every transaction is processed securely with encrypted payment processing.

Can I cancel or change my order?

Yes — if we haven’t shipped it yet. Because we usually dispatch within 1–2 business days, please contact us quickly at care@thaitraditionalwear.com with your order number and the email you ordered with. If it’s already on its way, you can use our standard return process once it arrives.

I entered the wrong shipping address — what now?

Email us immediately at care@thaitraditionalwear.com with your order number and the correct address. We can update it if we catch it before dispatch, but that window is small, so the sooner you reach out the better.

I didn’t get an order confirmation email

First check your spam or junk folder and confirm you entered the right email address. If it’s still missing, email care@thaitraditionalwear.com with your name, the email you used, and roughly when you ordered — we’ll find your order and resend it.

Where do you ship, and how much is it?

We ship worldwide from Thailand, and shipping is free on every order with no minimum — whether you buy one piece or ten.

Will I have to pay customs duties or taxes?

Shipping to the USA: no — we cover any import duties through Delivered Duty Paid (DDP) shipping, settled as part of your order. There’s nothing extra to pay when your parcel arrives.

All other countries: your order may be subject to customs duties or taxes on arrival, set by your government and outside our control. Import rules have changed a lot recently, so we recommend checking your country’s current rules with your local customs authority. Any questions, email care@thaitraditionalwear.com.

How long does delivery take?

Standard international delivery from Thailand typically takes 10–14 days. Most parcels arrive on schedule, though customs processing or local postal delays can occasionally add a little time — factors that are out of our hands.

Will I get a tracking number?

Yes — every order is fully trackable from Thailand to your door. Once it ships, you’ll get an email with your tracking number and a link to follow it through dispatch, international transit, customs and final delivery.

My package hasn’t arrived — what should I do?

If it’s been more than 14 days since dispatch, check your tracking page first; parcels sometimes sit in customs for a few extra days. If tracking looks stuck or you’re worried, email care@thaitraditionalwear.com with your order number and we’ll look into it and help get it resolved.

What’s your return and exchange policy?

You have 14 days from delivery to start a return or exchange. Items must come back in new condition — unworn, unwashed, with the original tags still attached. Return postage is the customer’s responsibility, but on size exchanges we cover the cost of sending your replacement out to you. Full details are on our Returns & Exchanges page.

The size isn’t right — can I exchange it?

Yes, and it’s the easiest thing to sort. Email care@thaitraditionalwear.com within 14 days with your order number and the size you’d like instead. You cover the postage to send the original back; once it reaches us in new condition, we ship your replacement out free of charge.

How are refunds issued?

Refunds are issued as store credit, which never expires and is ready to use whenever you’re next looking for the right piece. If your situation calls for a refund to your original payment method, just tell us when you reach out and we’ll talk it through.

My order arrived damaged or incorrect — what now?

We’re sorry, and we’ll make it right at no cost to you. Email care@thaitraditionalwear.com with your order number and a few clear photos of the issue. When the fault is ours, we cover the return shipping and send a replacement — or a full refund to your original payment method if you’d prefer. We usually have these sorted within 24–48 hours.

I’m not sure what’s appropriate for my occasion — can you help?

Absolutely, this is one of our favourite things to help with. Different occasions call for different styles and levels of formality: more structured, formal styles suit weddings; modest styles suit temple visits; lighter, regional styles suit festivals and celebrations.

I’m not Thai — is it appropriate for me to wear Thai dress?

Yes, when worn respectfully and for the right occasions. Many of our customers are partners marrying into a Thai family, guests at a Thai wedding, or friends attending a cultural celebration or temple ceremony.

What matters is wearing an appropriate style for the occasion and approaching it with genuine respect rather than as a costume. If you’re unsure where to start, just reach out — we’ll happily guide you to the right choice, and there’s no such thing as a silly question here.

What should my child wear to a Thai cultural event?
