The Story

The Chut Thai (ชุดไทย) is the ensemble men wear for the moments that matter — weddings, ordinations, temple visits, engagement ceremonies. Its silhouette reaches back to the Rattanakosin royal courts, and its modern revival owes much to a generation of Thai television and cinema that reintroduced court dress to a younger audience. Once seen mostly on grooms and dignitaries, the long-sleeved printed shirt with mandarin collar is now the confident choice of anyone who wants to arrive properly.

The Muen edition is our most refined men’s set. A long-sleeved mandarin-collar shirt in an intricate paisley and floral print, worn with a smooth pre-sewn Chong Kraben (โจงกระเบน) and a two-piece sabai (สไบ) — a satin band tied at the waist, finished with a gold brocade panel and tassels falling to the thigh. The pattern is dense, the cut is considered, and the whole set photographs beautifully in low light. This is the version you wear when you want to be remembered.

Men’s Fit. Choose your shirt size — we’ll match the Chong Kraben to it and confirm by email before shipping. If your waist measurement falls outside the default range for your shirt size, we’ll offer to swap the trouser at no extra cost. Just reply to your order confirmation email or add a note at checkout.

Sizing tip: for a comfortable ceremonial fit, choose a shirt size roughly 2 inches larger than your actual chest measurement.

Fabric & Care

The shirt is a printed woven fabric with a fine hand and a soft sheen. The Chong Kraben is a smooth woven fabric in a matching tone. The sabai combines a satin waist band with a woven brocade panel carrying metallic gold motifs. Dry clean recommended to preserve the print, the weave and the metallic threads. If hand-washing, use cold water and a gentle detergent, lay flat to dry away from direct sunlight, and press on a low setting on the reverse side. Store folded, away from damp.
