True to her name (mukda means pearl), this outfit is made for days when your little girl wants to sparkle. The set includes a top and a matching chong kraben. The top is the highlight. It’s a sleeveless bodice with a two-tier ruffled collar edged in sewn-on pearls and finished with a little fabric bow. All of that is part of the top, so there’s nothing extra to pin on.
The chong kraben gives her that classic Thai shape, with full, gathered legs and a pattern that catches the light as she moves. She could wear it to greet relatives at Songkran, for a Thai culture day at school, or for family photos at a wedding. Pick Pastel Pink for a soft, all-pink look, or Cream to let the rose-toned chong kraben stand out.
The pearl waist belt shown is not included, and neither are shoes.
The top is made from soft satin, and the chong kraben is a woven patterned fabric with a gentle sheen. Our size chart shows the measurements of the finished garment, not body measurements. To choose a size, measure around your child's chest and pick the size whose top chest measurement is 2–3 inches bigger, so she has room to move comfortably. Then measure around her waist and check that it falls within the chong kraben's waist range. If her waist is near the top of a range, the next size up will give her more room.
